Description
Antique English match case made of sterling silver 925 (stamped and guaranteed), provided with a large eyelet, so that it can be worn as a fancy pendant on a chain. The rectangular matchbox has a shell-shaped profile on the front and back, is gold-plated on the inside and is equipped with an excellently functioning hinged hinge. In the lower left corner is the monogram "iec" framed by stylised rocailles.
This jewel full of character was created in Birmingham in 1890 and is a funny and extravagant companion to unusual looks. It can also be worn as a Charivari pendant to the traditional costume.
