Description
Beautiful pair of vintage earrings, each set with a charming Wedgwood plaque (stamped, guaranteed and signed).
The pale blue round plaques made of Blue Japer ware (single and light blue coloured bisque porcelain) are made in the style of classicism and show a boy who cares generously for two birds. They sit in simple frames and are provided with long and hooked haircuts of gilded silver (stamped and guaranteed), through which they sit comfortably and freely swinging on the ear.
The traditional manufacturer Wedgwood was founded in 1759 under Josiah Wedgwood in Staffordshire, who quickly made a name for himself as a ceramist, particularly through the invention of the so-called Jasper ware, which in its light blue variant coined the term "Wedgwood Blue" and is still a globally recognizable Wedgwood signature today.
Length of the earrings (including hairstyle): 1.6 cm.
Diameter of the set plaques: 1.4 cm.
Diameter of the approximate plaques: approx. 12.6 mm.
Weight: 2.0 gram.
Condition: Very nice vintage condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the earrings lovingly packed in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
