Description
Sparkling historical girandol garnet earrings from Bohemia, crafted from gold-plated tombac (stamped and guaranteed).
The beautiful earrings consist of a small and a large rosette motif, each with three pendants. They are completely set with wine-red, round faceted garnets, whose deep red harmonises perfectly with the shiny gold tombac settings.
The term girandole refers to the opulent design of the earrings with three swinging pendants. This earring shape, which is also alternatively called a ‘chandelier’, came into fashion in 17th century courtly jewellery in France and Spain and was very popular throughout Europe until the 19th century due to its elegant shape.
The earrings sit flexibly and freely swinging on the ear and are particularly comfortable to wear thanks to their hooked prongs.
The earrings were created in Bohemia around 1880 and their sparkling elegance and beauty still captivate today.
We offer the matching pendant with the item number 202512777 to go with the earrings.
Dimensions of the earrings (incl. prong): ca. 5.3 x 1.5 cm.
Diameter of the garnets: ca. 1.6 - 4.8 mm.
Total weight: 7.8 grams.
Condition: Very nice historical condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the earrings lovingly packaged in one of our high-quality cases with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery items are worn objects that may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
