Description
Very rare rococo heart-shaped ring with emerald and rose-cut diamonds, crafted from yellow gold 625 / 15 ct (stamped and guaranteed).
The heart-shaped ring head is set in the center with a drop-shaped faceted and foiled emerald surrounded by a frame of ten rose-cut diamonds. The emerald weighs ca. 0.6 carats and the diamonds have a total stone weight of ca. 0.65 carats. An elegantly ornamented ring band in yellow gold and a closed gemstone setting on the back round off the design, typical of the period.
In the 17th to 19th centuries, gemstones were foiled, i.e. colored iridescent metal foils were placed in the settings closed at the bottom to give the gemstones more color intensity. This common technique is used here.
This beautiful and collectible ring was created in the Rococo period around 1780 and impresses with its typical period style and excellent condition.
