Sensational antique ring from the late rococo period, worked in rose gold 585 / 14 ct (stamped and guaranteed) and set with beautiful diamond roses.

The round, elaborately designed ring head is pierced in the shape of a flower and set in the centre with a large rose-cut diamond of approx. 0.8 carats. 40 further small diamond roses decorate the design and set charming highlights. The diamonds have a stone weight of approx. 1.1 carat and are set in silver settings typical of the time, which should accentuate their brilliance. In addition, the precious stones are foiled; a popular design element in jewellery production since the late Gothic period, in which a wafer-thin foil of copper, silver or tin was placed between the setting and the stone to make it look even more alive from below.

The opulently worked ring head merges into a delicate, floral ornamental ring rail. Even the underside of the ring head is decorated with floral motifs, a reference to the delicacy of the goldsmiths and jewellery artists of the time.

This rare antique ring was created around 1780 and is an authentic piece of jewellery of the late rococo period. It shows the preference for diamond jewellery at the time, which was influenced by courtly models and can be traced back to the discovery of huge diamond deposits in Brazil in 1727.

Today the ring is an absolute must for every lover of antique jewellery and a unique piece full of character and historical charm.
