Description
Charming historical ring in yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (stamped and guaranteed) and genuine Italian Sciaccia coral from Sicily. The salmon-coloured coral in rectangular cabochon cut is flanked by two beautiful rose-cut diamonds of approx. 0.14 carats, which make for a charming sparkle. The open-worked ring rail also sets distinctive accents on the sides of the diamonds.
The lovely antique ring was created around 1890 and is particularly fascinating because of the light red to orange Sciacca coral. This is named after its deposit off Sicily and was discovered around 1875. Until 1915, it was extremely popular, as a result of which its natural deposits were quickly exhausted and jewellery objects made of Sciacca coral are still in great demand and highly valued today.
