Description
Charming mascaron pendant in gold-plated silver (tested and guaranteed) on a long chain in fine pea pattern in gold-plated sterling silver 925 (stamped and guaranteed). The so-called mascaron, translated grimace face, is usually found as decoration on buildings, where it functions as a drolery, a sometimes grotesquely exaggerated representation of man, deity or animal with funny or frightening appeal. The pendant is fully plastic in Renaissance style and connected to the fine chain by a movable eyelet. This has been newly supplemented and can be closed at the back with a securely functioning carabiner.
The distinctive pendant was created around 1890 at the time of historicism, when the styles of bygone epochs were used, especially in architecture, but also in the art of jewellery. Today this piece of jewellery is an individual accessory that can be combined with casual shirts, cosy pullovers, but also with blazers and blouses.
Length of the chain: 61 cm.
Dimensions of the trailer (incl. eyelet): 3.0 x 2.5 cm.
Weight: additional 6,1 gram.
Condition: Wonderful historical condition, small missing part at lower margin, new chain, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the necklace lovingly packed in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery are worn objects which may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
