2 garnet cabochons, ca. 1.2 mm in diameter.
Description
Historic brooch in the shape of a fly, with amethyst and seed pearls, crafted from delicately gold-plated silver (tested and guaranteed),
The period fly brooch consists of two oval faceted amethysts totalling ca. 8.2 carats, which form the abdomen and chest of the fly. The outstretched wings and legs are crafted in delicately gold-plated silver, while the wings and the waisted centre of the fly are also decorated with small seed pearls. The striking red eyes of some fly species are depicted here with two small garnet cabochons.
There is a well-functioning pin with a C-hook on the back.
The antique brooch was probably made in Austria-Hungary around 1890 and is characterised by its almost naturalistic appearance, but above all by the wonderfully violet amethysts. This beautiful brooch is an exceptional piece of jewellery for individualists and collectors.
Dimensions of the brooch: 3.4 x 3.1 cm.
Dimensions of the amethysts: ca. 14.9 x 11.2 mm and 8.3 x 6.5 mm, total ca. 8.2 ct.
Diameter of the garnet cabochons: ca. 1.2 mm.
