Exclusive Rococo pendant in 585 / 14 Kt yellow gold (tested and guaranteed) set with enchanting diamonds and rubies. The bow-shaped pendant is made of delicate openwork tendril motifs and has a movable, pendulum-shaped off-set. A radiant drop-cut ruby sits on it, which corresponds with another table-cut ruby in the middle of the pendant. The two lovely gemstones are foil coated, i.e. they are underlaid with a thin foil of dyed metal, so that the color of the gemstone is even more intense and radiant. Such foils have been known since the late Gothic period and have been a common practice in jewellery production ever since. The rubies are accompanied by four charming table-cut diamonds set in silver settings that adorn the pendant on both sides. This is connected to a later supplemented chain made of yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (tested and guaranteed) by two solid eyelets.
This dreamlike pendant was created around 1770 in southern Germany and is an authentic rococo jewel whose motifs and shapes were strongly oriented towards nature. It preferred flowers, tendrils and bows in combination with coloured stones and diamonds. The eponymous rocaille was also a popular ornament at the time. In general, the rococo was characterized by luxury and splendour, and life at court was regarded as a role model. The role of the goldsmith also changed at that time and sometimes changed from that of a pure craftsman to that of an esteemed court artist.
The beautiful pendant is therefore a must for every antique jewelry lover and a rare as sought-after collector's item of singular value.
