Description
Rare brooch from Theodor Fahrner, made of silver (tested and guaranteed, stamped). The round, arched piece of jewellery is openwork in the shape of a stylized star or a flower and decorated with finely shining black enamel. Grey sparkling marcasites as well as delicate shimmering pearl inlays set distinctive accents and frame the highlight of the brooch, a large, centrally seated chrysoprase in round cabochon cut and beautiful green. At the back there is a safely functioning needling with safety slide.
The stylish brooch was created around 1920 and with its elegant black-and-white contrast it wonderfully picks up the stylistic preferences of Art Deco. It can be attributed to the production of Theodor Fahrner (cf. Ketterer 1990, Fahrner-Schmuck 1900 bis 1975), who is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern jewellery making.
