Description
A rare, large antique cross pendant with sparkling garnets, crafted from gold-plated tombac (assayed and guaranteed).
This stunning historical pendant features a stepped design and is entirely set with numerous wine-red rose-cut garnets. The arms of the cross fan outwards, whilst the centre of the cross is accentuated by a smaller garnet cross set on top.
The cross can be worn on a chain of your choice via a movable eyelet, which is also set with garnets. A silk ribbon is also a wonderful choice here.
This historic pendant was created around 1850 and was traditionally worn as a symbol of faith. Today, it is used either as a symbolic companion and talisman, or can be freely combined as a decorative fashion accessory or worn with traditional costume.
Dimensions of the pendant (including eyelet): 5.5 x 2.8 cm.
Diameter of the garnets: ca. 1.3–4.6 mm.
Weight: 5.6 grams.
Condition: Very fine historical condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the pendant lovingly packaged in one of our high-quality cases, along with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery are pre-owned items which, due to their history, may show slight signs of wear.
