Description

Wonderful porcelain pendant / miniature painting typical of the time with the fine depiction of an elegantly dressed young lady in a blue dress and curly hair decorated with flowers. The oval porcelain plaque sits in a simple frame frame made of gold-plated Pinchbeck. The pendant can be attached to a chain through a large eyelet made of gold-plated sterling silver 925 (tested and guaranteed). The jewel was originally designed as a brooch, so the eyelet is a new addition.
The lovely pendant was created around 1880 and is an excellent example of the sentimental-romantic tendencies and feelings of the late 18th and 19th centuries due to its depiction of a young woman looking longingly into the distance.
