Description
Apartes vintage bracelet in gold-plated silver 835 (stamped and guaranteed), set with five large amber cabochons. These sit on flat, slightly arched rectangular limbs, which are movably connected to each other by smaller rod limbs. The round, cognac-coloured Baltic Sea amber stones have beautiful inclusions, so-called sun flutes, which give the stone a wonderful liveliness. At the back, the piece of jewellery is closed with a simple folding clasp with an additional safety chain.
The chic link bracelet was created around 1935 and is a product of the Georg Kramer company, which was founded in 1771 and continued by Walter Kramer in fifth generation until 1948. Kramer is regarded as the founder of the so-called Fischland jewellery, which received its name because of the production site on the Fischland peninsula and is characterised in particular by the use of amber and the use of maritime motifs and forms.
Due to the political situation, Kramer was expropriated at the end of the 1940s and similar but industrially produced pieces were sold under the name Fischlandschmuck. A lawsuit finally decided in his favour followed. Since the end of the 1980s, the company has been managed by Kramer's step subsidiary.
