Description
Historic signed enamel necklace from Norway by Marius Hammer, crafted from delicately gold-plated silver 930 (stamped and guaranteed).
A beautiful round pendant made of gold-plated silver, completely covered in fine enamel, hangs from a chain with narrow elongated links. The pretty pattern, in the centre of which a royal blue circle is surrounded by a laurel wreath, has delicately coordinated colours and is framed by a fluted edge in gold-plated silver. The pendant also hangs from an element that forms a bow with curved ends and is accentuated in the centre by a small enamelled circle.
A sturdy spring ring clasp ensures a secure hold and easy handling.
This historic necklace was created in Norway around 1908 in the workshop of Marius Hammer, one of the most important silversmiths in Norway. Marius Hammer was born in Bergen in 1849 and opened his workshop there in 1871, which existed until 1927. His ornate silver work is often decorated with enamel and still captivates today with its detailed and high-quality workmanship.
