Dimensions of the inner frames: ca. 4.7 x 3.1 cm.
Description
Large historical medallion pendant made of 925 silver (stamped and guaranteed), decorated with beautiful black enamel painting.
The medallion presents the motif of the three graces on the front. The daughters of Zeus are depicted dancing and embody grace, beauty and festive joy. The craftsmanship of the motif is remarkable here: the motif was applied to a guilloché background in the style of a silhouette, which creates beautiful, shimmering blue-grey reflections depending on the incidence of light. Translucent translucent enamel provides a wonderful three-dimensional quality to the work.
There are two frames inside the pendant that offer space for small portraits, photos or souvenirs. The piece of jewellery can be worn on a chain of your choice via a movable eyelet.
The medallion comes from Munich and was created around 1910, at a time when translucent enamel over a guilloché ground or jewellery with enamel painting in general was particularly en vogue. It is characterised by the fineness of its workmanship and its excellent state of preservation.
Dimensions of the medallion (incl. eyelet): 6.7 x 4.0 cm.
Dimensions of the inner frame: ca. 4.7 x 3.1 cm.
