Description
Beautiful pendant with historical cameo made of gold-plated sterling silver 925 (tested and guaranteed).
The gem depicts a Roman vestal virgin in a pleated robe and veil, standing in front of a temple. In ancient times, vestal virgins were the temple guardians or priestesses of the goddess Vesta, the keeper of the sacred fire.
The antique cameo was set in a bezel setting at a later date and fitted with a classic decorative eyelet. The pendant is sold without a chain, but we would be happy to advise you on a matching chain from our range.
It was created around 1900 and is a wonderful example of stone-cutting art from around 1900.
Dimensions of the pendant (with eyelets): 5.8 x 3.6 cm.
Dimensions of the cameo: 42.9 x 34.3 mm.
Weight: 13.4 grams.
Condition: Wonderful antique condition of the cameo, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the pendant lovingly packaged in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage or antique pieces of jewelry are worn objects that may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
