6 seed pearls, ca. 2.4 mm in diameter.
Description
Beautiful and rare Biedermeier earrings with garnet and seed pearls, crafted from yellow gold 585 / 14 ct (tested and guaranteed).
The elegant earrings have Viennese prongs that open to the front, each set with two garnets and a seed pearl. A large, cartouche-shaped suspension with opulent ornamental decoration swings from each of the finely decorated prongs. Further deep red rose-cut garnets and seed pearls sit in the centre, forming a floral motif. A playful decorative bead rounds off the design.
Depending on the occasion, the large dangle can be attached or removed using the bail fastener, allowing the earrings to be worn in two different ways.
The historic earrings were created around 1850 and are a particularly beautiful example of the art of Biedermeier jewellery thanks to their lavish decoration and cartouche-shaped design. They can be wonderfully combined with festive occasions or traditional costume.
Dimensions of the earrings: 6.8 x 1.8 cm or 2.1 x 1.1 cm.
Diameter of the garnets: approx. 2.4 - 4.5 mm.
Diameter of the seed beads: ca. 2.4 mm.
Weight: total 6.1 gram.
Condition: Very good historical condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the earrings lovingly packaged in one of our pretty cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
