Description
Rare and exquisite Empire necklace made of yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (tested and guaranteed). The multi-row necklace has three ornamental pieces with cupid paintings in so-called intergold technique. In this technique, gold leaf cut into contours is placed between two glass plates melted together at the edges. The paintings each show a putto in action. One cherub is on his way to offer a thing, another recites a text at a lectern and another hurries to action with his bow. The small, charming little pictures are each surrounded by a frame of the finest seed beads. The necklace can be opened and closed again with the help of a delicate floral engraved box clasp with a catch. The wonderful necklace was created around 1810 and speaks the formal and material language of the Empire style. A fine and precious piece for true antique jewellery lovers and collectors!
