Fine rare Ouroboros snake brooch with opal, made of rose gold 333 (tested and guaranteed).
The oval brooch is set in the middle with a fine shimmering opal.
The gemstone with a weight of approx. 5 ct is framed by a so-called ouroboros, a snake that bites its own tail.
The snake's scaly skin has been finely engraved into the rose gold alloy for a realistic appearance. The eye of the snake is set with a small faceted garnet.
The historical brooch was created around 1814 and with the ouroboros as a symbol of eternity it is a wonderful piece of jewellery for antique jewellery lovers! The year 1814 as well as the initials of a couple are immortalized on the smooth back of this adorable unique piece.
