Description
Elegant bracelet by Christoph Kay with an attractive hammer finish, made of silver 800 (stamped and guaranteed as well as signed). Seven high rectangular, arched limbs in a soft hammerblow look are flexibly connected by strict hinges. A simple soldering process profiles the bracelet on both sides in geometric accentuation. The bracelet has a well functioning hook clasp.
The Art Deco bracelet was created around 1930 in the house of Christoph Kay Hamburg and is a wonderful example of the clear ambitious jewellery art of the time around 1930. The gold- and silversmith Kay was a member of the Hamburger Kunstgewerbeverein as well as a member of the Deutscher Werkbund and ran his own workshop in Hamburg from 1920 - 43.
