Description
Delicate lavallière necklace with pink Verneuil sapphires and seed pearls, crafted from yellow gold 585 / 14 ct (stamped and guaranteed).
Two pendulum-shaped suspensions, each consisting of two slightly curved, narrow bars, sit on a fine chain. At their ends are two synthetic Verneuil sapphires in bright pink and oval cut. Two small seed pearls in a rhombus-shaped setting form a beautiful accent at the upper end of the pendulum.
The enchanting necklace is closed with a box clasp.
The lavallière necklace came into fashion during the Belle Époque. The special shape of the necklace was an allusion to a piece of jewelry worn by the famous French stage actress Ève Lavallière (1866-1929).
The necklace was created around 1910 and is a beautiful historical piece of jewelry that can be combined in many ways. The invention of synthetic rubies and sapphires grown in the laboratory goes back to Auguste Verneuil, who developed this process at the end of the 19th century. At the time, people were so overwhelmed by the technical possibility of producing gemstones synthetically that they were often used in high-quality genuine jewelry.
Length of the chain: 43 cm.
Dimensions of the pendant: 3.7 x 1.0 cm.
Diameter of the Verneuil sapphires: ca. 4.4 - 5.1 mm.
Diameter of the seed beads: ca. 2.0 mm.
Weight: 3.6 grams.

You will receive the necklace lovingly packaged in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
