Description
Charming antique brooch in gilded silver 835 (stamped and guaranteed) with fine miniature painting. An oval porcelain plaque depicts the portrait of Empress Maria Alexandrovna, née Marie von Hessen-Darmstadt, after Franz Xaver Winterhalter. The German portrait painter, who also portrayed Empress Sisi, shows the Tsarina looking at the viewer. Her pearl-decorated hair is pinned up and reveals the view of her white frilly dress. She also wears pearls around her neck, which fall softly over a pink bow on her chest. The badge sits in a simple frame, which is provided on the back with a simple needling with safety slide.
The historical brooch was made around 1900 and was handcrafted. It is a very special and lovely accessory for every antique jewellery lover!
