Description
Exquisite agate cameo pendant with a very fine representation of Apollo in profile to the right. Apollo, the god of the arts, of prophecy and of light, is depicted here with a strictly heroic expression, his curly hair adorned with a laurel wreath, which he wore as a sign of his mourning for his unreturned love for the nymph Daphne. The fine cameo sits in a smooth frame made of yellow gold 585 / 14 Kt (tested and guaranteed), which merges into a frame which is completely covered with small seed pearls with a soft grey luster. The pendant can be attached to a chain of your choice through a finely ornamented eyelet. On the back the antique piece of jewellery has a glass frame for taking small portraits or a lock of hair of your loved ones. The historic cameo pendant was created around 1850. It is a particularly beautiful example of the craftsmanship, quality and detail of 19th century jewellery and a must for every antique jewellery lover.
