Pretty English suffragette earrings with diamonds, peridot and amethyst, crafted from yellow gold 375 / 9 ct and gold-plated silver (tested and guaranteed).
The delicate earrings have diamond-set hook earrings and flower-shaped pendants, each set with six diamonds, four peridots and one amethyst. The earrings are in the colors of the suffragettes - white, purple and green - which were to be understood as a secret identification code.
“Give Women Vote” was the slogan of the suffragettes, a women's movement that campaigned for women's right to vote at the beginning of the 20th century. The first letters of their motto stand for the English color scheme Green, White and Violet.
These rare earrings were created in England around 1915 and make a lovely gift for antique jewelry lovers or collectors!
