Description
Wonderful historical earrings with finely cut shell cameos and diamonds, set in yellow gold 750 / 18 Kt (stamped and guaranteed).
The charming ear jewellery made of oval shell cameos is decorated with finely cut portraits of ladies. A delicately engraved gold rim in the look of a wavy banner is artfully placed around the cameo. Above each cameo are three octagonal-cut diamonds of approx. 0.2 carat (G-H, VS1-VS2).
The large baroque freshwater cultured pearls hang delicately below the cameo; they were added later.
On the back, the earrings have large butterfly bristles in yellow gold (585 / 14 kt); they sit securely and beautifully straight on the ear.
The cameos with framing were made around 1880 and are a wonderful example of the playful art of jewellery in the 19th century.
Dimensions of the earrings: 3,8 x 1,8 cm.
Cameo dimensions: 14.3 x 10.1 mm.
Dimensions of the diamonds: ca. 2,1 mm, total ca. 0,2 ct. (G-H, VS1-VS2).
