Description
Beautiful traditional costume earrings from the district of Schaumburg, made from gold-plated silver and colourful ornamental Stones.
The region around Schaumburg looks back on a rich history of traditional regional costume. Even today, it is still worn in everyday life and is one of the largest and most extensive traditional costumes in Germany.
Our gold-plated silver earrings come from one of the many traditional Schaumburg costumes: large, round decorative rosettes set with red and green glass stones are attached to particularly long, curved hoop earrings. In between is decoration made of silver filigree and braised beads. The long hoops are designed to allow the earrings to peek out from under the bonnets, which are traditionally tied together under the chin.
The opulent ear jewellery is usually combined with a large chest buckle or a large amber necklace with a decorative silver clasp and is thus considered part of a wedding ensemble.
The antique earrings were created around 1900 in the Schaumburg area.
Dimensions of the earrings: 5.0 x 2.7 cm.
Diameter of the ornamental stones: approx. 4.9 mm.
Weight: 14.8 grams in total.
Condition: Beautiful historical condition, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the earrings lovingly packaged in one of our pretty cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage or antique jewellery items are worn objects that may show slight signs of wear due to their history.
