Description
Historical traditional costume brooch from gilded silver (examined and guaranteed, stamp verschlagen). The special feature of this rare brooch are the two facing eagle claws, which give it its round design. The tips of the claws hold two elementary symbols of the German Empire, an imperial orb and a trohning eagle, the so-called imperial eagle, which holds the wings spread. The orb is decorated with a small faceted rhodolite, framed by a star motif. Above the eagle the two eagle claws are held together by an elaborately chased ornamental band. At the back there is a needle with C-hook buckle.
The historical brooch was created around 1890 and is both pretty as a piece of jewellery for traditional costumes and a coveted collector's item for antique jewellery lovers.
Dimensions of the brooch: approx. 4.3 x 3.2 cm.
Diameter of the rhodolite: approx. 0.3 cm.
Weight: approx. 12.9 grams.
Condition: Nice historical condition, one fracture at the left claw, freshly cleaned, see photos.
You will receive the brooch in one of our high-quality cases and with a certificate of authenticity.
Please note: Vintage and antique jewellery are worn objects which, due to their history, may show slight signs of wear.
